Contrary to the name of their establishment, Emmanuelle and Olivier are not at their trial gallop as hoteliers (canter refers to the trial gallop of a race horse). Since they met at the hotel school in Le Touquet more than 30 years ago, the couple has been driven by a common passion for their profession: "We cultivate the joy of welcoming and accompanying our clients during their stay while ensuring their comfort and the quality of our establishment. Together, they took over the reins of The Originals Access, Hotel Canter in 2019. With its 20 quiet rooms, bar and private parking, the 2-star establishment located near all the tourist attractions of Saumur does not lack assets and especially not charm. Starting with that of its happy owners.

THE CASTLE OF SAUMUR

Last example of the princely palaces built by the Valois dynasty, the castle of Saumur overhangs the Loire River with its high, imposing, majestic and immaculate towers. Its current form dates from the 15th century. Residence of the governors of the city, prison, then arms and ammunition depot, the castle was bought by the city of Saumur in 1906 to turn it into a museum. Today, the museum includes several heterogeneous sections. Not to be missed: the belvedere, on the roofs of the castle, which offers an incomparable view of the city and the last wild river in France.
