“Welcome to the Promenade des Flots Bleus,” a short walk from the Promenade des Anglais, says Patrick Guérin. While the hotel road is aptly named – blue waters promenade – it is only a cousin to the famous promenade just a few kilometres away. Here, we’re in Saint-Laurent-du-Var, in the greater Nice Côte d’Azur area. Patrick immediately loved this neighbourhood for its location and buzz when, in 2000, he swapped his chef’s hat for a hotelier one. But while his direction changed, his contact with people did not. “I love chatting to our guests. I like everyone to feel at home here, from business people passing through to families on holiday.” Built in the 80s, the establishment now boasts three stars and 31 spacious, soundproofed rooms overlooking the street’s shops from their balconies. This urban hotel also offers a car park and a 24-hour reception.
