The Salvation’s Islands, 3 islets of volcanic origin, are located about 17 km from Kourou. They mainly house remnants of the galleys, but also allow to enjoy a paradise setting with a lush forest in the background and clear water for swimming. You will discover Île Royale, the largest and most touristy island and Saint-Joseph Island, much more wild - it is on this island that the ruins of the prison are the most visible. The third, Devil's Island, remains inaccessible.
